Notification Letter Types

At Mammologix, we believe that when we have seen breast imaging center...well, we've seen one!

Every breast imaging center provides their services in sometime rather unique healthcare communities and often need to have communications to their patients highly customized. That's why Mammologix offer each client custom messages of their specification generated, based upon specific scenarios.

Below we've listed the 2-dozen most common scenarios our clients encounter.

Letter: 01 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUN​

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative or Benign without any recommended additional observations or follow-up guidance.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 02 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUNCL

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up, while checking with a healthcare provider for any further recommendations.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative or Benign without recommended additional follow-up involving breast imaging with the suggestion to seek clinician's input on any other advice they may wish to offer regarding the examinee's breast health care.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 03 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUN

Scenario: Return for early (immediate) follow-up breast imaging.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Needs Additional Imaging with recommended additional follow-up guidance.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 04 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUN36

Scenario: Return for early (short-term) follow-up breast imaging.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Probably Benign with recommended additional short-term follow-up within the next 3-6 months.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 05 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUNBX

Scenario: Obtain interventional procedure/biopsy.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Suspicious or Highly Suggestive of Malignancy with a recommendation to obtain tissue sampling.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 06 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUNOU

Scenario: Obtain prior images.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Needs Additional Imaging with a recommendation to obtain prior images.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 07 | ID Code Printed on Letter: POSTBX

Scenario:  Return for early follow-up breast imaging.

Most typically used when the examinee has undergone image-guided tissue sampling with a recommendation to obtain a follow-up breast imaging procedure within 6 months to re-establish a mammographic baseline.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 08 | ID Code Printed on Letter: CLNCL
Scenario: No specific recommendation for specific breast imaging. Any follow-up to be based on clinical evaluation by the examinee's healthcare provider.

Typical use varies and is limited to those situations with no concise recommendation for imaging follow-up with any follow-up based on the examinee's healthcare provider.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 12 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUNPLS

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up at some period further in the future more than 12 months from the most current breast imaging procedure being assessed.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative or Benign with specific guidance to seek routine follow-up at some date beyond 12 months in the future.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter:  13 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUNCL

Scenario: Return for early (short-term) follow-up breast imaging.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Negative, Benign, or Probably Benign with recommendation to seek clinician's input and advice regarding the examinee's breast health care with  possibility of obtaining additional follow-up (i.e Screening MR, Screening US, WBUS, Genetic Testing, or High-Risk Assessment).

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter. 

Letter: 14 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUN36


Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up at some period less than 12 months from the most current breast imaging procedure being assessed.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative, Benign, or Probably Benign after resolving a recommendation for early follow-up with specific guidance to return to routine breast imaging follow-up at some date less than 12 months in the future.


Letter: 31 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUN30

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up at age 30 years.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative or Benign without any recommended additional observations or follow-up guidance until age 30.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 41 | ID Code Printed on Letter: RFUN40

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up at age 40 years.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as either Negative or Benign without any recommended additional observations or follow-up guidance until age 40.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 55 | ID Code Printed on Letter: EFUNBXSURG

Scenario: Recommendation to follow-up with a breast surgeon for further evaluation.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results indicates no radiographic evidence to obtain a tissue sampling, however, follow-up with a breast surgeon for consultation is warranted.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 63 | ID Code Printed on Letter: OSF-EFUN

Scenario: Obtain prior images. Without them being made available, return for early follow-up breast imaging.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results is assessed as Needs Additional Imaging with a recommendation to obtain prior images or perform additional breast imaging to resolve any outstanding findings demonstrated in the current images.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.


Letter: 83 | ID Code Printed on Letter: MR

Scenario: Return for early follow-up breast imaging post a breast MR procedure.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results recommends additional follow-up based upon a breast MR. The follow-up period suggested is at some date less than 12 months in the future.  


Letter: 88 | ID Code Printed on Letter: OVD

Scenario: Reminder to contact health care provider about recommendations for a prior breast imaging procedure.

Most typically used when the examinee is lost-to-follow-up having been recommended for a follow-up from a prior breast imaging procedure performed at the facility, with no confirmation it was ever obtained.



Letter: 91 | ID Code Printed on Letter: AD_RFUN

Scenario: Return to routine breast imaging follow-up based on an addendum issued from additional information or prior images now available.

Most typically used when the examinee's report of test results has an addendum issued and is assessed as either Negative or Benign without any recommended additional observations or follow-up guidance. Addendum issued without other imaging performed and alters the original recommendations of the most prior beast imaging procedure.

Specific wording generated for examinees with dense or very dense breasts having a mammogram and being communicated to with this letter.



Letter: 92 | ID Code Printed on Letter: AD_RFUNCL
